People often ask me, what professional photography organizations do you belong to, and why? Well, here’s a list of all the professional organizations Rebecca Wilkowski Photography belongs to.  Here at RWP, we think it’s pretty darn important to maintain these kinds of photography memberships. It shows our professionalism, dedication to providing high quality work, commitment to continuing education, and allows us to network with other really cutting edge professionals. Some of these memberships are open to all photographers, while others we belong to require an extensive application process with memberships not granted to all those who apply. Greener Photography is a place for the photographic community to consider the environment; learn to conserve and better preserve our resources and images; and connect by sharing suppliers, ideas, and methods. Together we can learn how each of us can be more green, advocate for change within our field, and provide a place for informed discussion about how we can make photography greener. As members of Greener Photography, we are committed to environmentally-friendly practices and to encouraging change within our industry. Rebecca Wilkowski Photography is a Leadership Circle Member and Board Member of Greener Photography.

Professional Photographers of America - Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is the world’s largest nonprofit association for professional photographers, with more than 20,000 members in 54 countries. It seeks to increase its members’ business savvy as well as broaden their creative scope. It aims to advance their careers by providing them with all the tools for success.

The National Press Photographers Association is dedicated to the advancement of visual journalism, its creation, practice, training, editing and distribution, in all news media and works to promote its role as a vital public service. Founded in 1946, the NPPA continues to attract the best in news photography, video and multimedia. It is this professional diversity that sets the NPPA apart from other organizations. NPPA encourages visual journalists to reflect high standards of quality in their professional performance and in their personal code of ethics. NPPA vigorously promotes freedom of the press in all its forms. Professional membership in the NPPA is open to all individuals who are working or aspiring towards working in the field of visual journalism.

Editorial Photographers (EP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and profitability of editorial photography. Their mission is to educate photographers and photography buyers about business issues affecting the industry, and in the process raise the level of business practices in the profession. Working editorial photographers, assistants, students and educators are welcome and encouraged to join.

News Wedding Photographers
Members must have: 1. a minimum of at least two (2) years of editorial photography experience at a professional newspaper (daily or weekly), magazine or as a documentary photographer AND 2. a professional website that showcases one’s photography in a format which is easy to navigate, includes all working links and explains the photographer’s work history.
