What kind of a look can we get for our headshots?

What kind of a look can we get for our headshots?

We offer backdrops in many colors. You may also choose to use the interior of your office location as a backdrop.

Will you come to our business location?

Yes. We need a space of about 10’x15’ to set up our equipment (lights, stands, tripod, backdrop, posing stool, etc). Don’t have a dedicated space to capture headshots? Consider using a conference room, exercise/nursing area, or lobby. For clients who prefer their headshots be captured outdoors, we need access to open shade in a secure area to provide safety to our team and your guests. *Due to the increase in theft/violent crime against photographers in the Bay Area, we will consider outdoor photography projects on a case-by-case basis.

Do you have a studio we can come to?

Yes, we have a studio located in San Francisco’s Soma district near 5th and Harrison.

How many headshots can you capture in a day?

The amount of time we spend on a headshot depends on a few variables: headcount, time frame, and client preference. The more time we have per person, the more options of expression and posing the subject will have to choose from.

Most Headshot Days schedule employees in 15 minute increments where we have 5 minutes to prep, 5 minutes to photograph, and 5 minutes to select the final image.

For Headshot Days at conferences or large new hire events, we can photograph up to 30 people per hour. This increased volume provides fewer images to select from and does not include vanity retouching.

Who handles scheduling for headshots?

We work with your Office Manager to create a schedule for the day. You are then responsible for managing time slots for each headshot subject in advance. We recommend using either Acuity Scheduling or Google Docs.

What should I wear/how do I prepare for my headshots?

Check out our “Tips for a Great Headshot” page for all the details including outfits, hair and makeup. Make up artists can be provided on request for an additional fee.

Do you offer help with hair, make up or wardrobe ?

Our studio and on-location sessions offer a “Primp Station” which is a self-serve selection of grooming items, such as a mirror, hair spray, dry shampoo, combs, make up remover, oil blotting sheets, eye glass cleaner, hair ties, and bobby pins. We can also add a hair & makeup artist or stylist to your session on request for an additional fee.

How do we pick our final images?

When time allows, we will review your images with you right after being photographed and you will make your selection before you leave your session. In cases where this is not an option or preferable, low resolution, watermarked proofs will be available online within 48 hours for your review. You will have 3 business days to select your final image(s). If final selections are not made within that timeframe, the photographer will make the selections for the client.

How many images do I receive?

This depends on the package you’ve chosen. Typically, anywhere from 1-3 images per person. Additional digital images may be purchased. Pricing is $150 for one image, $125 each for two images, and $100 each for 3 or more images.

How quickly will I receive my images?

Full-resolution retouched images are delivered within 5 business days after receiving your image selections. Faster delivery times are available with a RUSH fee.

What kind of retouching is included with headshots?

Light digital refinements are included with all headshots at no extra cost, and include contrast, color, sharpness, saturation, exposure and brightness. Some headshot packages also include light skin softening, minor teeth whitening, and minor blemish removal.

Advanced cosmetic retouching is available for an additional investment. Advanced retouching includes: removal of reflections from eyeglass lenses, lightening shadows under eyes, softening wrinkles, whitening teeth, removing stray hairs, removing lint from shirts, correction of deep wrinkles and sagging skin, double chins, slimming of faces and other body parts, fixing ill-fitting or dirty/wrinkled clothing, head swaps, eye swaps, lazy eyes, eye bags, distortion on eyeglasses, stubble and redness from faces, removing braces, swapping backgrounds, adding/removing people, etc.

This means, you can use the images for personal use, PR, editorial, social media, LinkedIn, online dating, company website and email, pitch decks, speaker bios, educational presentations, editorial features, internal communications publications or presentations, news broadcasts, and documentaries. What to Expect:

When you arrive for your studio session, we’ll sit and chat for a few minutes. We’ll cover my process and how I work. I’ll show you a few posing tips. And we’ll chat about your goals, special requests, or any concerns about being photographed. We’ll then review your wardrobe choices and make selections. You will then change into your wardrobe and touch up your hair and makeup. We’ll put on some music you like, and your session will begin! After a short period, we’ll stop to look at what we’ve captured to make sure we’re on the right track. We will discuss any edits that need to be made and resume photography of the remaining looks. Once the photography is complete, we’ll sit down to review and select your favorite photos. Your favorite images will then be sent off for retouching. You will be presented with proofs of the retouching which you can either accept or return for one round of revisions.
