The Photography Venn Diagram Rule: Why You Can’t Have All Three

You’ve probably heard the saying before: “Good, Fast, Cheap—pick two.” Well, it applies to photography, too. In fact, it applies to almost every creative service where a real human (hi, that’s me!) is behind the work.

The reality is simple: I’m an artist, not a machine. I pour time, creativity, and technical skill into every image, and that means there are limits to how much I can bend the laws of time and physics.

So, let’s talk about the Photography Venn Diagram—the magical trio clients always want:

Great Quality (images you’ll love, polished to perfection)
Fast Turnaround (edited and delivered yesterday)
Low Cost (a bargain-basement price)

You can absolutely have two of these—but not all three.

The Three Choices (and How They Work in Real Life)

1. Great Quality + Fast Turnaround (But Not Cheap)

Want me to drop everything, prioritize your project, and deliver flawless, edited images quickly? Totally possible! But here’s the catch:

  • I have to clear my schedule - both professional and personal.

  • I’ll be working nights, skipping dinner with my family, and drinking way too much coffee.

  • That kind of rush service costs more—because you’re essentially buying priority status.

2. Great Quality + Low Cost (But Not Fast)

Want gorgeous images but don’t mind waiting a bit longer? Perfect! This is the ideal combo if:

  • You have a flexible timeline.

  • You understand that great work takes time (editing isn’t just “pressing a button”).

  • You’re willing to wait while I finish higher-priority, rush jobs first.

3. Fast Turnaround + Low Cost (But Not Great Quality)

Could I shoot and deliver super quickly at a lower price point? Sure, but the images would meet my own personal standards. So, unfortunately, this is not an option that I offer.

Why This Matters

Photography isn’t just clicking a button—it’s planning, shooting, lighting, posing, styling, editing, and perfecting every detail. To get all three (cheap, fast, AND amazing), you’d need an army of robots, not a single professional photographer who’s focused on creating art for you.

The Takeaway

When you book me (or any experienced photographer), ask yourself:

What matters most to me for this project?
✔️ Stunning, polished images?
✔️ Lightning-fast delivery?
✔️ Keeping costs low?

Pick the two that matter most—and I’ll happily deliver them for you. Because when you understand the Venn Diagram, we both win: you get exactly what you need, and I get to create my best work for you.

P.S. If you want great quality AND a fast turnaround, let me know early—I can totally do it, but rush fees exist for a reason.
